DICOM report
I know this is a relatively new "thing" out there, but it would be nice feature
Radiologies have to file reports, these are now in paper form or if equiped in the RIS or HIS.
Most image and report integration are propriatairy, Medasys/France has had theis for a couple year (DXFusion) and so does Algotec/Israel.
However, Dicom has now implemented a report option, to include the reports with the images. The only item I've found thusfar, is Siemens Magic web conformace statement (see sec 3.3).

A quick check of http://medical.nema.org/ only showed only agenda and meeting notes, it may not have been officially released yet.Anonymous wrote:Radiologies have to file reports, these are now in paper form or if equiped in the RIS or HIS.

1. The referenced DICOM Conformance Statement refers to a private SOP Class from Mitra - this has nothing to do with DICOM Structured Reporting.
2. DICOM Structured Reporting has been approved as part of the standard in April 2000.
3. Yes, it's still pretty new and it typically takes some time until you see a significant number of products on the market implementing a new DICOM extension.

There is a very useful tool to send any word or textdocument to
pacsone and connect the report with the patient imagestudy!
after a few weeks of work the tool pacsprinter of
www.medima.nl works well!
Try it ,but only it is a little bit expansive.
I am sorry but i didn't find a conversion tool to
programm a own tool anywhere.
perhaps you have any suggestions?

It may be a good feature to add a page in PacsOne Server to allow the users to add some comments, notes or any texts, and associate/link the entered text with a particular study/image.
However, more details need to be spelled out, for example:
1. Does the entered text need to be formatted like those in a structure report? If so, what would be the format?
2. Should the entered text be associated with a study or image? If the text in linked with a image, it seems like a Dicom Key Image Notes and probably should be formatted as such? If linked with a study, it seems like a Dicom Structured Report and should be formatted likewise?
So in summary, to add this feature to PacsOne, we need more detailed user requirements, comments and suggestions, and please feel free to post them here.
