CSTORE-Forwarding Problem

Post by wschmitz » Tue Apr 24, 2007 7:41 am

Hello all,

I'm running serveral Pacsones under Windows 2000 professional, working fine. The licences are somewhat elderly, so the Pacsone Version is 3.1.7.

Now I had to migrate one of the Pacsone Servers to Windows Server 2003R2.
So far no problem, as the server accepts and stores all studies coming from modality MR, CT, DX.

But when I try to push or pull images FROM the server TO a viewingstation, the following happens:

If I transfer just ONE image (i.e. a series containing a single image), thats ok.
If I try to transfer a series of more than 2 images, the process transfers the first image, but then it hangs (as far as I can see from the log file).
(I could post the relevant portion of the log-file, if needed).

In win2003, I'm logged in with administrational rights.
Could that be a win2003 issue, concerning Rights Management?

Can someone give me a hint, where to begin troubleshooting?

Any answer is welcome!! Thanks!

Can you send the PacsOne Server logs in a zip file to mailto:pacsone@pacsone.net so that we can find out the details?

Hi pacsone admin,

I sent an email as desired on 25.04.2007, but have got no answer yet.

Did the mail arrive?

Kind regards!

Yes, the emails were received and replies sent (but seemed to be lost).

Check the Dicom Conformance Statement of the destination AE and see if it requires a separate connection for each image sent to it.

Hello Pacsone-Admin,

first of all, thanks for your reply: I wonder why your emails were lost.
I will mail you another email-address. I would be kind, if you could
mail again to that new address.

Your short reply in this forum doesn't give me a real idea.
The receiving workstations work fine with our other 2 pacsones, which
run under windows 2000 professional. So I do not guess, that the problem
arises from the destinations(?). But even if so: What could I do, to make
pacsone transfer more than 1 single image in the win2003R2 setting?

Kind regards again!

You would need to check the receiving application for any error indications (error message, log file, etc.), since PacsOne got timeout errors when trying to send the 2nd image over the same connection to this destination AE.

Thanks again for your answer,

receiving workstations don't show any error messages.

I'm about to give up.
Next thing to do seems to be to check what happens on the network.
I'm not good enough in things like "ethereal" and at the moment this is too time-consuming.

Question: Is the version of pacsone that I'm using good for
windows server 2003R2?

Kind regards

Yes, the Windows version of PacsOne Server works on most Windows platforms, including NT, W2K, Windows 2003 Server, XP and Vista.

A network sniffer such as Ethereal is probably the only tool which can reveal where the packets to the destination AE were getting lost after the first image. It's actually very easy to use and all you need to do is to watch the inbound packets to the TCP port this destination AE is listening to.
