fsck for large filesystems
Post

Hello!
We are using Pacsone for a while now and have a filesystem of 2TB.
We are planing to enlarge our Pacsone in 2010 to a min. 5 TB filesystem but I have one great problem:
The fsck.
We use ext3 and the filesystemcheck takes more than 3 hours at the moment, which we can handle but when we will have at least 5TB of data the time will not be enough.
Does anybody have an idea what to do to get a faster filecheck ?

You may want to Google for such topic but generally speaking, the time for file system checks for a multi-TB file system is usually very long. So you may want to consider splitting the large multi-TB volume into several smaller partitions which will take less time during file system checks.
