MySQL Error: Client does not support authentication protocol

Post by nangelgr » Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:34 pm

Hi all,
I am working on Vista Home Premium
While setting up PACSONE I get the following error when I click on Install button:
==============================================
Error Configuring MySQL database: dicom
MySQL Error: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

Please verify the specified MySQL Username and Password are valid.
==============================================

MySQL version 5.1.25-rc-community MySQL Community Server (GPL)
I have tried various usernames mentioned in Readme.txt and root as well.

Does anyone have any clue why this keeps torturing me... that bad?

Thanx

Are you installing the Basic or Premium Edition of PacsOne Server?

As indicated in our Download page (http://www.pacsone.net/download.htm), PacsOne Server Basic Edition only supports MySQL 4.0.26 or earlier releases. So if you have installed MySQL releases newer than 4.0.26, you would need to install the Premium Edition of PacsOne Server instead as the Basic Edition is no longer being maintained due to our limited resources.
