PacsOne Server

Having trouble installing PacsOne 5.1.3 on RHEL.

Installation falls over stating that libstdc++.so.6 (GLIBCXX_3.4.4) required by Setup.exe could not be found. It looks like the dreaded mismatch in libstdc++ libraries again.

Updating libstdc++ on RHEL4 is not a simple matter. Is there anything you can do to help? Otherwise, we may have to re-install the system with RHEL5 which means a lot of time wasted.

Unfortunately you would need to upgrade to RHEL5 if you want to use the latest 5.1.3 of PacsOne Server, or you can download and install an old 4.1.3 release of PacsOne Server that does not use the libstdc++ shared library:

OK. Does PacsOne server require the libraries or is it only the installer that requires them?

We managed to get the installer to run and the server started after installing the latest glibc and libstdc++ RPMs and forcing rpm to skip dependency checks. The plan is to roll back to the offical RHEL4 version of these libraries now that the server is installed.

Otherwise, I'll advise the customer to upgrade to RHEL5 as you suggest.

Yes, both the Installer and the server programs of PacsOne Server require the libstdc++ package in order to run.

Ok. Customer has agreed to upgrade to RHEL5, so we're good.
