Automatic Purge Storage

Post by tim.lustberg » Mon Sep 05, 2011 12:20 pm

Hello,

i am trying to improve our current way of archiving old patient data.
i would like to use the "automatic purge storage" feature but i have a few questions.

after i "purge" data to our infinite storage will the MYSQL databaserecords of that data still be present?

if that is true, will PACSone know the difference between the 2 media types?

Kind regards. Tim

The automatic purging of storage directories means to purge both the database records and the raw Dicom image files stored in the PacsOne Server database. So once the purge is complete, both the corresponding database records and the raw Dicom images files are deleted.

Based on your description below, it seems that you want to archive aged patients/studies from the short-term archive directory to the long-term archive directory, instead of purging them from the database. Is that correct? If so, then the Automatic Purge of Storage Directory is Not the feature you are looking for. Instead, you should enable the Automatic Aging From Short-term to Long-term Archive Directory feature from the Configuration menu, which will move all the raw Dicom image files of the aged studies from the default Short-term Archive Directory to the Default Long-term Archive Directory, and the specific Short-term Archive Directory to Long-term Archive Directory if they are defined for each Source AE.
