Importing DICOM files
Any tips on importing? I can import DICOM files successfully from CD or DVD and import them either to the specified cd or dvd folders or into the folder used for the database C:/Archive - I can't get the images to appear in the Pacsone database though. The manual seems to imply that a dicom directory link to the images would be registered in the database. Any help?
Re: Importing DICOM files
Can you elaborate on what you mean above? Do you mean you can see the imported patient/study/series information but do not see the thumbnails or full-size images?davisonp wrote:I can't get the images to appear in the Pacsone database though.
If you've selected the Import from CD/DVD option, then the source image files will be copied to the destination folder in addition to the database records created for the imported images.
If you've selected Import from Dicom-formatted directory option, then the source image files will NOT be copied and only the database records will be created to link to the existing source image files.
Importing files
Sorry - to clarify: At the moment when I import it always tells me there's no dicom directory even when I know it's present on the CD. The files appear in the destination folder I send them to e.g. C:/Archive or C:/Program Files/PacsOne/cd/ for instance. However, the patients do not appear on the database list or when I search for them on the database. I seem to be missing the updated database record part of the import function. If I can't see the dicom directory I presume I'm importing them to the wrong folder to be seen on the Pacsone database?
The no dicom directory message is a warning message indicating that PacsOne could not find the DICOMDIR directory header required for a Dicom formatted directory hierarchy.
In any case whether there's a DICOMDIR or not, PacsOne should still try to import the files in the source directory to the destination folder. If you saw the raw image files actually have been copied to the destination folder, but did not see the new patiens showing up on the patient list, then there's something wrong. You can check the Import job status to see if PacsOne did successfully complete this import, and also the PacsOne Server log files under the log sub-directory where PacsOne is installed.
If you do not want to trouble-shoot the PacsOne log files, you can zip it up and send it to: mailto:pacsone@pacsone.net

IMPORTING DICOM FILES
I don't understand how to use the TOOLS menu to export and import studies.
When I export 1 patient to CD, pacsone makes a folder called VOL1. Within that folder is DICOMDIR file and PAT1 folder.
How can I then take that file and Import it back into a different Pacsone Database?
Help!

You can do one of the following:
1. Burn the content of the 'VOL1' directory into a CD and then Import from that CD on the other PacsOne Server.
2. Copy the content of the 'VOL1' directory, e.g., zipping the whole directory, network-share the whole directory, NFS-mount that directory, etc., to a local folder on the other PacsOne and then Import from that folder.
