New Features

Post by navin » Sun Jun 19, 2005 5:56 am

My company is actively looking into PacsOne.We currently have a trial version running & running well. But before we purchase the license,i would like to know if features such as a link to view studies in an external viewer, say Dicomworks, are being proposed to be added?if not, can you atleast guide us on how we ourself can incorporate such a feature?

Currently, there're two ways to view studies in an external viewer:

1. Download the subject study:

In the Patient page where a list of all studies is displayed, users can click on the Download link for the subject study, and this will download all the raw images of this study into a ZIP file to the local browser, where the external viewer can open the downloaded raw image files.

2. Export the subject study:

In the same Patient page where a list of all studies is displayed, users can check off the subject study (ies) and click on the <Export> button. The Export tool will create a Dicom formatted directory hierarchy (DICOMDIR with sub-folders and raw images). Users can then burn the exported directory into CD/DVD, or network-share the exported directory so that the external viewer can open the DICOMDIR header and browse through the sub-folder and directories.

We're also in the process of adding a new feature to compress the exported directory into a ZIP file, which can then be downloaded directly to a local browser (without having to burn the directory content into a CD/DVD first).

If you install one of the web-based viewers that are URL-linked from our website http://www.pacsone.net/download.htm, e.g., RemotEye, RadWorks, MedDream, etc, then you can launch the external web-based viewers by clicking on the checkboxes in front of the subject patients/studies/series/images, then clicking on the <Show> button to view the selected patients/studies/series/images via the external web-based viewers.
