dr only lists
It would be nice if a user name only brought up information about that dr. Hippa will not allow any dr to see any file.
Thanks, Andy, would you like to elaborate on the details about how you'd like this feature implemented?
Currently PacsOne has only 2 types of users: read-only and full-access. It's relatively straight-forward to add an access control list for users, but I'd like to hear the options to tie the access control list to the stored patient/image information from end-users like you.

When you log in perhaps the user name could be the name of the the Referring Physician or the reading Physician. This way you could have one data base that could serve multiple practices or different goups of physicians in a hospital. By only retreaving and allowing access to a patient that that dr is dealing with would make hippa happy. If this was taken care of this product would be attractive to the larger companies. Scrolling through the data sets, zooming, and changing the images contrast would also help a lot.
I sat in on a sales pitch yesterday of a comersial pacs system. The program included the items listed above and some other minor image minapulation and they were talking around $200,000 for a web server and data base. These products did what this program does. I would estimate the hardware cost of the commersial verison about $25,000. so you can see a similar software program is worth $175,000 with better image minapulation.
Thanks for the great inputs here.
While it's relatively easy to use referring/reading physican as username for patient access, what if these information are not available? since some input modalities simply don't send referring and/or reading physician tags to PACS servers. Do we allow any user to access patients without referring or reading physician information in that case?
