Modification of DICOM header of images with needed elements

Post by dwilljch2 » Thu Jun 21, 2007 5:41 pm

We have been testing Pacsone server for some time now in side -by-mode with our reqular pacs server/router. Pacsone performs in a superior manner to our existing server. However , it is desirabe to modify Pacsone to modifiy the dicom header with needed elements( e.g. a site code) of images received from our modiaties (i.e. CT,US, and RG) prior to auto routing to other dicom entities.

Can this be done now in pacsone , can pacsone do it, or can we do this by modifying the database(we are using MYSQL) ourselves.

Please advise.

Thanks

Yes, this feature is called Data Element Coercion in PacsOne, where you can define a pattern string for modifying (coercing) a list of supported Dicom data elements, e.g., the Patient ID, etc. To use this feature, click on Tools from the Main Menu, and click on Data Element Coercion tab.

You can define the Data Element Coercion rules for PacsOne to modify the subject Dicom data element in the received image based on the rules you defined, then you can define the Automatic Routing rules to have PacsOne forward the coerced images to the destination AE (s).
