DICOM Modality Worklist (DMWL) Features

Post by pacsone » Mon Apr 12, 2004 2:45 pm

These features are next to be implemented for PacsOne Server Premium Edition. As of today, I have the following preliminary requirements defined:

1. Support Modality Worklist Management FIND (SOP Class UID 1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.31) as SCU: PacsOne users will be able to query one ore more Modality Worklist SCP(s) from the web user interface for a list of worklist items returned by the SCP(s), by using the C-FIND command and a set of search attributes entered from the web user interface. Users can also browse through the returned matching result set for worklist details.

2. Support Detached Study Management (SOP Class UID 1.2.840.10008.3.1.2.3.1) as SCU: PacsOne Server will receive study status notifications (N-EVENT-REPORT) from the Detached Study Management SCP, and query the SCP for study information by using the N-GET attributes.

The above features are being implemented and please feel free to provide your comments, suggestions or any additional features you'd like to add to the above list.

Thanx.

DICOM -> <- HL7

I'd like to be able to build the worlist on the modiality, right now I don't have a way to do that, no HL7 interface yet. I'd like to be able to build it from a SQL dump file ...

Would you like to elaborate on the specifics?

For example, the current PacsOne Server implementation support querying the worklist information through a DICOM worklist SCP, which probably has a HL7 interface and acts as a broker between the HL7 server and the worklist SCU (PacsOne in this case).

It seems from your brief post that you'd like PacsOne to bypass the broker and query the HL7 server directory through a HL7 interface. While this feature is possible, do you know if this direct HL7 interface is more desirable than using a broker?

So far there has not been any end-user indication about which method is preferred, so the easier method (broker through a worklist scp) is implemented first.

Once again, your input is very valuable here.

building interfaces

hmm,
Elaborate on specifics ... ok, you asked for it :)

What I'm trying to do here is to get us by with PACSone until administration can choose a comecerial PACS.
I currently have 6 month woth of images on the 'server' ( I put it on a laptop since this whole thing was supposed to be temporary.).
One of the problems I'm running into is, since we don't have a worklist on the modiality (KODAK CR950), I'm getting A LOT of errors and inconsistancies (DR, Lastname ; Firstname, Lastname ; Last - for example).
SO, since I don't have an HL7 engine yet, and I don't have a DICOM broker, what I would like to do is build the worklist from an ASCII dumped text file that is currently coming over for a seperate application.

I'm not sure how to do the push of the worklist, and I don't know how to build it. I do know that the file I'm getting from the mainframe folks has the info I need ... now to upload it into MySQL, and get PACSone to do the pushing, is that possible ??

I can send you an example of the file if that would be helpful.

Aslo, as a side note, I need a differnt way to buy the full version, our finance guys won't let us make a paypal account on the corprate VISA ...

if you want to e-mail me directly it's :

Could be great that Pacsone can generate (as a broker) worklist acting as a SCP.

For example reading txt files from RIS or HIS without HL7 or with n specific port that accept HL7 messages.

Yes, HL-7 is the second most requested feature after Linux in the last PacsOne users' poll.

If/when HL-7 support is added, it will then be possible for PacsOne to act as a DMWL SCP thus eliminate the need for a middleman/broker.
