auto route 5.1.1

Post by tservice » Tue Sep 23, 2008 2:01 am

During auto route I am having a problem with version 5.1.1. It will route about 16 images and then stop. With no errors, in the job status it just says submitted. The images are going to Pacsone version 6.1.1. Any ideas? Thanks

Did you check if the Job Status of those Submitted jobs stayed as Submitted, or they got processed eventually?

One potential reason why those routing jobs were not processed immediately is the Maximum Outgoing Connection setting configured for the destination AE, as PacsOne will not establish more than that many simultaneous associations to the destination AE at any time, so if you've defined the Maximum Outgoing Connection setting as 16 for the destination AE, and there were already 16 live connections to that destination AE, PacsOne will not establish any more connection to that destination AE until some of the 16 live connections are completed.

job status is submitted. Both Pacsone is set for a max of 5 connections. The logs do not show any errors. The connection is via a vpn. On the system that is receiving system shows no live connections, after about 16 images. This appears to be reproduceable within a image or two.

One last thing, if I cancel the auto route and send then then will all transfer with no problems.

It just says submitted until the vpn no longer sees any traffic (that time out is 1 hour) and closes the connection then pacsone says submitted and lists the number of retries.

Can you post the detailed job status page for any of those Submitted jobs? Pay special attention to the Schedule column of the job.

It looks like all of these forwarding jobs were scheduled to be run during the [19:00-20:00) 1-hour window, but based on the number of retries for these jobs, it seems that PacsOne Server was very busy running these forwarding jobs via a narrow vpn link, so some of them did not get completed during this 1-hour window. That's why the Job Status stayed as "Submitted" since the local time has already gone passed the scheduled time window for those jobs, and PacsOne Server will pick up those jobs at 19:00 the next day.

Based on the large number of retries, it seems that you may have scheduled too many forwarding jobs at the same 1-hour window, especially if all of them are to be transferred via the narrow vpn link. You may want to change the current automatic routing rule and use a [From, To] schedule window instead of the fixed schedule at 19:00 pm. This way, the forwarding jobs can be evenly distributed among the [From, To] schedule window and won't cause that much of a traffic jam when all of the forwarding jobs take place at the same 19:00 pm hour.

Thanks I will try that. I did not know that if you told it to autoroute at 7:00 that there is only a 1 hour window.
